Shirley O'Brien
After years of listening to her spouse rehearse every night, Shirley O'Brien began playing the accordion only a year ago in self-defense. Although she has played the organ and piano for years, the accordion was a new adventure and she is already playing gigs and leading sing-a-longs. She enjoys folk music and pieces with rhythmic accompaniment. She recently "comped" her spouse on two selections for his new accordion CD. She is employed at The University of Arizona as Associate Director of Cooperative Extension. She has also been a church organist and minister of music for many years.
