Linda Sorrell, attends ACT meetings when she is in AZ visiting relatives. She enjoys teaching private accordion, piano, and guitar lessons at her Barnegie Hall home and small farm in Johnson City, TN. As immediate past president of the Appalachian Music Teachers Association (affiliated with the Tennessee Music Association and the Music Teachers National Association) her passion for music education, especially the accordion, continuously keeps her learning, teaching, performing and leading. Known as Accordionly yours, Linda, she plays a wide repertoire of accordion music for area celebrations. She squeezes in playing most Wednesdays at noon at the Cranberry Thistle Cafe in Jonesborough, TN. With encouragement from fellow members of ACT, Southeast Accordion Association, and the Carolina Accordionist Association, she has founded the Accordions of Northeast Tennessee (NET). Linda not only sends accordion news by email to NET members, but started directing an accordion band in June, 2007. The band, which meets on Saturday afternoon at Barnegie Hall, hopes to be performing by Christmas 2007.
